谷歌研发手机系统：无法想象的新应用和新功能

谷歌(Google) 的Android计划在向世界敞开的时候，也进入了中国。不仅中国移动是其盟友之一，而且部分研发也将在中国进行。继关于Google战略的揣测之后，现在引用网易科技的一篇文章，对Google的行动进一步观察。
谷歌(Google)进入手机市场的计划，在11月5日全面曝光。谷歌宣布，它已经与全球通讯产业内包括手机厂商、芯片厂商、移动运营商、应用软件开发商 4类共33家的巨头们成立了“开放手机联盟”，中国移动也是盟友之一，联盟的目标是把手机打造成功能强大的便携电脑。
“我们这次宣布，是告诉业界我们要做这件事，我们的联盟也是开放的联盟，希望更多的人加入进来。”谷歌中国Android研发带头人邸烁告诉记者。
“开放手机联盟”旨在开发可显著降低开发和分销移动终端与服务成本的技术。Android平台是朝这个方向发展迈出的第一步，它是一种由操作系统、中间件、用户友好界面和应用软件组成的全面整合的移动“软件栈”。首款基于Android的手机有望在2008年下半年推出，首先通过T-Mobile和 Sprint在美国市场销售。在中国，谷歌的盟友是全球最大的移动运营商中国移动，如果一切顺利，中国移动一年后也会把“谷歌手机(Gphone)”引入中国市场。

网友们设计的Gphone
分析人士认为，谷歌手机平台推出后，将挑战现有手机市场应用格局，尤其将对诺基亚、苹果及黑莓手机制造商RIM等公司构成威胁。但包括诺基亚在内的手机制造商表示，谷歌在手机市场实为后来者，虽然其手机平台会促进手机用户的网络应用，但不会对已先进入该市场的企业构成巨大威胁。
与其他的手机操作系统不同，谷歌的Android系统基于开源Linux代码，合作伙伴在不需要支付许可费的情况下就可以利用，不存在任何专利障碍。谷歌甚至不打算在相关手机上打上自己的标识，也不会在软件中嵌入“Google”标志。
但它能支持所有谷歌的服务，如地图搜索、电子邮件等。“谷歌并不享有版权，谁开发由谁拥有产品。谷歌也不会卖这个操作系统。”邸烁说。Android的商业模式与已经存在的手机操作系统大不一样，谷歌并不从这上面赚钱，而通过这个平台，把用户带到自己的网站上。我们的商业模式是希望将来手机用户可以访问我们的服务，使用我们提供的内容。“谷歌的定位并不是手机操作系统提供商，而是移动互联网服务商”。谷歌移动服务总监AndyRubin说。
这样可以让移动运营商和设备厂商在产品设计上享有最大化的自由和灵活度。同时也可以大幅削减移动设备和服务的开发推广成本，而这也是最吸引厂商加入联盟之处。
“移动互联网是个大趋势，通信厂商都非常重视，产业链上的各个环节已经开始在这方面投资和控制，苹果在iphone上添加新应用，中国移动定制手机推广移动邮箱、证券服务，意图已相当明显。”计世资讯副总经理郭海涛认为。
而索爱、诺基亚这样的手机厂商已经不甘心将手机卖出去就完，他们也在考虑价值曲线的延伸。特别是诺基亚向移动应用服务商转型的步伐很大，2006年开始进行了大量的收购，今年6月还花几十亿美元收购了一家地图软件供应商。
谷歌承诺，今后联盟成员将为移动用户提供“无法想象的新应用和新功能”。

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on various websites for about a year and am concerned about switching to another platform. I have heard excellent things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
